This is what people actually mean when they search for an "all-inclusive villa" in Jamaica: a private house with a butler, a chef and a housekeeper included in the nightly rate. You plan the menus, the chef shops and cooks, and the housekeeper resets the place while you're at the beach. For a group of ten to fourteen it often works out cheaper per head than a comparable resort suite.

In staffed Jamaican villas the labour is included but groceries are usually billed at cost on top. Confirm the food arrangement and the staff's working hours before you book.

Ten-bedroom villas are rare in Montego Bay, and they solve a specific problem: keeping a wedding party, a milestone birthday or a multi-family reunion together instead of scattered across resort floors. With a full staff on site the catering and cleanup stop being anyone's job, which is the real reason groups this size choose a villa over a hotel block.

Before you book

For events, ask the host directly about guest caps, vendor access and whether an event fee applies. Villa rates usually cover residents, not a party of visiting guests.

Ocean-view villas sit a street or two back from the water, and that small compromise usually knocks a meaningful amount off the nightly rate. You still get the view, the pool and the chef; you just walk or drive a few minutes to put your feet in the sea. For groups who plan to spend most of the day around the pool anyway, it's the best value on this page.

What a villa chef actually does

On arrival the chef will usually sit down with you and agree a rough menu for the week: what you like, what you cannot eat, how many are in for lunch. From then on they shop, cook breakfast and dinner, and clear up. Lunch is often lighter and self-service, though at the larger staffed estates it is cooked too.

Jamaican villa chefs are generally excellent at both local cooking — escovitch fish, curry goat, jerk, rice and peas, fresh callaloo — and the international food a mixed group expects. If you want a particular cuisine, say so early so the ingredients can be sourced.

The cost question

At almost every villa on this page the chef's labour is included in the rate and the groceries are extra, bought on your behalf and settled at cost. This is normal and usually works out cheaper than eating out, but it does mean the headline nightly rate is not your final bill. Confirm the arrangement on the listing before you book, and expect to leave a gratuity at the end of the stay.

Chef included, or chef available?

Read the wording carefully. "Chef services" sometimes means a cook can be arranged for a daily fee rather than one being on staff. If having someone in the kitchen is the reason you are booking a villa, choose a listing that says the chef is included.
